Actor Komal Aziz Khan revealed that she moved out of her family home, emphasising that independence should be more normalised in Pakistani society.
Taking to her Instagram stories during a question-and-answer session, Komal shared that she moved out of her family home one-and-a-half years ago and now lives with her best friend and her cat. “I moved out of my family home 1.5 years ago. I now live with my best friend and cat. Family lives close by and sends me homemade food all the time. Best life ever!” she wrote.
The actor discussed challenging societal norms by choosing to live independently. “Dear Pakistanis, moving out of the house is not leaving family. Even baby birds fly out of the nest when they can fly. I did not leave my family. I just got my own place. You all should try it. Especially the married ones," she wrote.

Further, addressing the pressure to get married, Komal stated that she has never felt compelled to follow societal expectations in this regard. “I don’t feel any pressure from anyone. I only know how to give pressure. I have a very strong sense of self and only I decide what I want in my life. Not society," she wrote.
The actor also reflected on the challenges of living as an independent woman, writing, “You have to be very very very stubborn. Society is not easy for women to survive in. Only very headstrong, stubborn women can survive. Also work very hard. This road to freedom isn’t easy."
