Netflix has revealed the first glimpse of 'The Witcher' Season 4, confirming the fantasy drama's return this autumn with a major shift at its core – Liam Hemsworth officially takes over the role of Geralt of Rivia, succeeding Henry Cavill Based on Andrzej Sapkowski's novels and CD Projekt Red's hit video games, the show will once again follow Geralt's perilous journey through war, monsters, and fragile alliances. Cavill departed the series after three seasons. Cavill announced his exit in 2022, reflecting on a "journey filled with monsters and adventures" as he passed the White Wolf's mantle to Hemsworth. The newly released teaser shows Hemsworth's Geralt squaring off against a ghostly wraith, retaining the character's familiar brooding presence. Netflix's synopsis suggests Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri will take separate paths in a world fractured by conflict, but will forge unlikely alliances. Returning cast members include Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, Joey Batey, and Eamon Farren, with Laurence Fishburne joining the ensemble. Both Season 4 and Season 5 — confirmed as the show's final instalment — are being filmed back-to-back to adapt Sapkowski's Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, and Lady of the Lake. Season 4 will comprise eight episodes, serving as the penultimate chapter before the saga concludes. Fans can mark their calendars: The Witcher returns exclusively to Netflix on October 30.
