In a recent candid interview, Pakistani singer-songwriter Shiraz Uppal appeared as a guest on host and YouTuber Nadir Ali’s podcast. Renowned for hits like Jhuki Jhuki and Bin Roye, Uppal revealed intriguing insights about music. When asked which singer has won his heart with their live concert performances, the artist made a surprising admission, stating, "I don't attend concerts, first of all." Uppal went on to share his preferences and critiques regarding live performances based on observation. Particularly commending artists from India, the Raanjhanaa singer expressed a particular fondness for Sonu Nigam, labeling him as a "very good entertainer" with a unique ability to improvise and entertain the audience spontaneously. "He can spin a composition on potatoes and tomatoes at the spot," the artist added, emphasising Nigam's versatile talent. Praising Nigam's energetic stage presence, Uppal also acknowledged the singer's exceptional mimicry skills, making his performances thoroughly enjoyable. Another standout performer in the industry, according to him, is Sunidhi Chauhan, whom he described as a "very good performer." However, when the conversation shifted to Arijit Singh, who is known for an extensive repertoire of songs, Uppal offered a critical assessment of his live performances. "Arijit has a lot of songs, but he's not a very good live performer. He doesn't have that energy; he calmly stands and sings," the artist commented.  Uppal elaborated on the importance of movement and crowd engagement in live concerts, citing Nigam and Chauhan as artists who excel in captivating their audience with dynamic performances. “In concerts, you need a certain movement, you need to be able to move your crowd. From this angle, Sonu and Sunidhi are amazing,” he added. Notably, Uppal highlighted the contrast in musical backgrounds, noting that while Nigam had ventured into pop before playback singing, Arijit initiated his career with playback singing.  Have something to add to the story?
