Zayn Malik, the international sensation, joined forces with Pakistani trio AUR for a captivating remake of their 2023 chart-topping hit, Tu Hai Kahan. The re-released version, featuring additional vocals by Malik, hit the airwaves on Friday (January 12), bringing a fresh perspective to the mesmerising ballad. In a statement to Billboard, Zayn expressed his humility and excitement about the collaboration. "I was incredibly humbled when AUR reached out and asked me to collaborate on their song Tu Hai Kahan. I love the song and have brought some of myself to it. I hope people love what we’ve done," he shared. The song had previously amassed hundreds of millions of streams and secured the No. 1 spot on Spotify in Pakistan, India and the Global Viral charts. Accompanying the release is a new music video, offering a glimpse into the creative process. The visuals juxtapose scenes of AUR in the studio with Zayn recording his vocals solo in a booth, creating a seamless blend of artistic collaboration across borders. AUR's members, Ahad, Usama, and Raffey, expressed their enthusiasm for the cross-cultural collaboration, emphasizing the universal language of music. "We are super excited for this collaboration as it shows that music has no boundaries," they stated. "Tu Hai Kahan is such a special song to us, and it’s hard to describe how amazed we were when we first heard ZAYN’s voice on the track. We’re taking Pakistani music global, and we can’t wait for the world to vibe to our music." The release is a joint effort between US-based indie D36 & Sony Music Entertainment, Middle East, marking Zayn's return to the music scene since his one-off single, Love Like This, released last summer. Zayn's most recent album, Nobody Is Listening, dropped in 2021. This collaboration serves as a testament to the power of music in transcending geographical boundaries, fostering a connection that resonates globally. As Zayn and AUR unite their talents, Tu Hai Kahan becomes a symbol of cross-cultural harmony and the limitless potential of international musical partnerships. Have something to add to the story?
