Activist and Nobel Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai has once again taken to X to share a statement on the attacks by Israel on Palestine. Attaching a video alongside her post, Malala penned, "I’m horrified to see the bombing of al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza and unequivocally condemn it." She further wrote, "I urge the Israeli government to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza and reiterate the call for a ceasefire. I am directing $300K to three charities helping Palestinian people under attack." The advocate for education also shared links to organisations collecting donations. In the video, Malala is seen addressing her fans and followers, stating, "I'm here to add my voice to those from Palestine, Israel, and around the world crying out for peace. Collective punishment is not the answer. Half of Gaza's population is under 18-years-old. They should not be forced to live their entire lives under bombing and an unjust occupation." She further adds, "I'm directing $300,000 to charities working to help Palestinian children and people in danger. I ask everyone who's watching this video to donate to organisations providing humanitarian aid. Together, we must make it clear to our leaders that we expect them to work towards immediate ceasefire and an enduring peace." As I have processed the tragic news of the past days, I think of the Palestinian and Israeli children caught in the middle. I was only 11 years old when I witnessed violence and terrorism. We woke up to the sounds of mortar shells, saw our schools and mosques destroyed by bombs. Peace became something we could only dream about." She continued to highlight, "War never spares children - not those kidnapped from their homes in Israel, not those hiding from airstrikes or without food and water in Gaza. Today, I am grieving for all the children and people longing for peace and justice in the Holy Land."
